Youth development at Epic Bulk
Youth development isn’t a side project at Epic Bulk – it’s central to how we build the future of our business and South Africa’s industrial workforce. By combining structured learning with real workshop experience, we help young people become confident, work-ready artisans.
Our training focuses on trades like welding, boiler making, electrical work, mechanical fitting and spray painting – aligned to SETA requirements and delivered in an environment where safety, quality and mentorship come first.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES & TRADES
Artisan training aligned to real industrial needs
Epic Bulk’s training supports youth and early-career artisans across key trades – giving welders, boilermakers, electricians, mechanical fitters and spray painters the workplace experience and mentoring they need to progress.
Focus on MIG, TIG and arc welding in real production environments. Trainees learn to read drawings, prepare materials and weld to quality and safety standards used in industry. Under supervision, they progress from basic joints to more complex welds that are relevant to trailers and industrial equipment.
Training in plate work, fabrication and structural work relevant to trailers and industrial equipment. Emphasis on accuracy, safety and understanding how components fit into complete builds. Learners gain experience on real jobs in the workshop, not just simulations, helping them understand how their work impacts final quality.
Practical exposure to electrical systems used across industrial environments – from basic circuits and fault-finding to supporting equipment on the workshop floor. Training focuses on safe work practices, neat installations and methodical diagnostics. Learners are guided to think logically about problems and document their work properly.
Mechanical fitting skills focused on assembly, maintenance and fault-finding on moving equipment. Trainees work alongside experienced artisans on real tasks such as aligning components, replacing parts and investigating abnormal noises or failures. The goal is to build both technical confidence and respect for safe, methodical work.
Training in surface preparation, priming and spray painting for industrial applications. Learners cover masking, mixing, spraying and curing processes with strong focus on safety, consistency and finish quality. They see how correct preparation and technique affect durability, appearance and overall customer perception.
All training is delivered in a MERSETA-approved workplace environment and aligned with relevant SETA and national skills development frameworks.
PARTNERS & WORKPLACE APPROVAL
Workplace-approved training with trusted partners
Epic Bulk’s training environment is approved by MERSETA and recognised by partners like CHIETA, NECSA and the YES (Youth Employment Service) programme. That means learners train in a real workplace that meets national standards for safety, supervision and skills development.
Together, these partnerships help us align training with SETA requirements, support formal apprenticeships and learnerships, and create pathways into real jobs.

Epic Bulk is looking for corporate partners who want to invest in practical skills development – by sponsoring training places or hosting qualified learners at their premises. Our workplace-based programmes give participants real experience in welding, fabrication, electrical work and more, so you can tap into a pipeline of work-ready talent.
Eligible programmes may contribute towards SDL claims and skills development points, in line with SETA requirements.
